Move4Nature: ENGSO Youth Young Delegate Maxime Delay and the Valais 2025 Cleanup Tour in the Swiss Alps.
In September 2025, ENGSO Youth Young Delegate Maxime Delay carried out a major cleanup effort in the Swiss Alps. As part of the Move4Nature campaign, BloomUp, organisation Maxime is a part of, partnered with Kärcher to organise an impactful environmental action during the 2025 UCI Mountainbike World Championships in Valais: the Valais 2025 Cleanup Tour. This initiative combined sport, sustainability, and community engagement, showing how major sporting events can become platforms for positive environmental change.
Throughout the event, participants – including fans, volunteers, local youth groups, and sports enthusiasts – joined forces to collect litter in and around competition venues and natural areas used during the Championships. The objective was to help preserve the beauty of the Swiss Alps and raise awareness about the importance of protecting natural environments through simple, concrete actions.
The action gathered 60 volunteers that worked across 4 different destinations. Together they collected: 169.1 kg of waste, including 742 PET bottles and 265 aluminium cans.
The Valais 2025 Cleanup Tour is a powerful example of how sport can inspire action and mobilise people for a greater purpose: caring for nature while celebrating athletic excellence.
