Hiking, camping & education: the first Dare2Move4Nature camp takes place in Slovenia
From July 4 to 7, 2025, the first (out of two) ENGSO Youth Dare2Move4Nature camp took place in Slovenia’s Karawanks mountain region. Hosted by Center Veriga, the camp brought together young participants from Lithuania’s Širivintu Sporto Klubas, Romania’s Sport for all Association Suceava, and local Slovenian organisations Center Veriga and Institute Impact.
Over four days, the youth engaged in a diverse programme combining outdoor sports and environmental education linked to the Erasmus+ initiative. Highlights included a full-day hike and various outdoor physical activities, allowing participants to connect with nature while promoting an active lifestyle.
Beyond sport, the camp emphasised cultural exchange, nature protection, and outdoor safety. Participants deepened their understanding of responsible interaction with the environment and took part in a first aid workshop to enhance their preparedness during outdoor activities.
The camp also featured swims in the Bled Lake and opportunities to explore Slovenia’s rich mountain landscapes, creating unforgettable memories and strengthening bonds between the young sport enthusiasts. While challenging, the camp was also fulfilling and filled with new memories.
