EUYOUSPORT national workshops conclude in Coimbra, Portugal
The third EUYOUSPORT project National Workshop on Youth Participation in Sport Governance took place in Coimbra, Portugal, hosted by the ENGSO Youth member and project partner Sport Confederation of Portugal (Confederação do Desporto de Portugal) on October 17–19, 2025.
Throughout the workshop, participants took part in a series of sessions exploring a wide range of topics, including youth engagement in sport governance, governance structures within the sports sector at both European and national levels, and the role of social inclusion, accessibility, and sustainable development in creating and strengthening mechanisms for youth participation in sport governance.
The three workshops in Helsinki, Rome, and Coimbra produced three different Youth Participation Strategies with the same goal: to develop effective and meaningful youth participation in sport in Finland, Italy and Portugal.
As for next steps, the young participants of the national workshops will present the strategies created to sport decision-makers, providing recommendations to improve youth participation and sport governance.
The European Youth and Sport Together (EUYOUSPORT) project is committed to strengthening the role of young people in shaping sport governance. By promoting their active involvement in decision-making processes, the project ensures that youth voices are heard and valued in building a more inclusive and forward-looking sports sector. Stay tuned to know the several youth participation strategies that will be created in the framework of EUYOUSPORT project and learn more about it here.
