EUYOUSPORT Featured as Best Practice in European Study on Youth Participation

The EUYOUSPORT project has been recognised as a best practice example in the newly published report “Fostering Youth Participation Through Cross-Sectoral Practices.” The report was developed within the New Power in Youth Strategic Partnership (NPiY SNAC), a collaboration between National Agencies for Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, and SALTO Resource Centres.

The study presents 18 inspiring initiatives from across Europe that successfully promote youth participation through cross-sectoral cooperation. EUYOUSPORT was highlighted as a strong example of how sport organisations can contribute to empowering young people and strengthening their role in governance and decision-making processes.

The report provides a comprehensive overview of trends, challenges, and innovative approaches to youth participation, particularly in partnerships connecting youth, school education, adult learning, and vocational education sectors. It also identifies nine clusters of recommendations aimed at supporting organisations and practitioners in replicating successful models of youth engagement across Europe.

EUYOUSPORT’s inclusion in the study recognises the project’s work in promoting youth participation in sport governance, encouraging young people to take active roles in shaping sport organisations and policies. By bringing together sport stakeholders, youth organisations, and policy actors, the project contributes to creating more inclusive, participatory, and youth-responsive sport structures.

Being featured among the selected examples highlights the growing recognition of sport as a powerful platform for youth empowerment, participation, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
