EUYOUSPORT Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Young Ambassadors Program (YAP)

Country: Germany

Duration: 2 years

Procedure for involvement: Open call

Specific Criteria: Young people between 14 and 29 years old.

Description:

The Youth Ambassadors Program (YAP), a two-year initiative, seeks to develop a group of young leaders with the ability to create and implement sports-oriented initiatives addressing important development areas, such as gender equality, social cohesion, and employability. The aim of YAP is to provide extensive capacity-building opportunities covering topics like gender equality, social cohesion, and employability within the Sport for Development (S4D) approach.

Capacity building is offered through a mix of online and in-person training sessions and seminars. The objective is to empower participants as advocates and multipliers of the S4D approach and supporters of youth inclusion in local decision-making processes, thereby influencing a broader audience within the community. In each region, the content is tailored to the local needs of the community as well as to those of the YAs, leading to the acquisition of international expertise through customised courses that align with the distinct requirements of the local community.
