Enhancing Quality in International Youth Activities: ENGSO Youth at the European Youth Centre

From 4–9 February 2026, Chloe Jordan, Policy and Projects Manager at ENGSO Youth, participated in the “Quality Essentials of International Youth Activities” training course organised by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg.

The training brought together 30 representatives from youth organisations and networks across Europe to strengthen their capacity to plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality international youth cooperation activities. The programme provided participants with practical tools, knowledge, and methodologies to enhance the impact, inclusivity, and overall quality of youth initiatives.

Throughout the course, participants explored key themes in international youth work, including intercultural and experiential learning, team dynamics, quality assurance, non-formal education, accessibility and human rights education. The training also encouraged participants to critically reflect on their current practices and identify ways to improve the quality and inclusiveness of their programmes.

During the training, Chloe also contributed to the programme by delivering a workshop on Human Rights Education through Sport. Using the Human Rights Education through Sport manual, the session introduced participants to how sport and physical activity can be used as tools to promote human rights, inclusion, and participation among young people. Participants explored practical activities and methods that can be used to raise awareness of human rights.

A key highlight of the week was the opportunity to exchange experiences with peers from diverse organisations. Through these discussions, Chloe gained valuable insights into effective planning, risk management and participant support. These learnings will contribute to the implementation of ENGSO Youth’s upcoming international activity planned for October 2026.

It was also a great opportunity to meet and connect with the staff working at the European Youth Foundation and the Council of Europe, gaining further insight into their work and support for youth organisations across Europe.

ENGSO Youth would like to thank the Council of Europe’s European Youth Foundation for organising and delivering such an insightful and valuable training course.
