The “YOU(th) for sustainable sport” project aims to inspire young people to initiate sustainable change in their communities while organizing sport events.

30 young people from all over Europe gathered to tackle the issue of exclusion of youngsters with disabilities in sport. They joined our “Step In For Inclusion” training course which has been designed, by ENGSO Youth, with an idea toincrease the participation of young people with disabilities in sports and to raise awareness of their able-bodied peers onthe importance of running adapted sport activities and involve them in the sports volunteering.

The objectives of Sporting Inclusion and Diversity correspond to the strategic priorities of the Council of Europe’s Youth sector for the period of 2020-2021, namely priority n.3: Inclusive and Peaceful societies. Within the frameworks of the “Promoting social inclusion, fostering active participation, gender equality and combating all forms of discrimination on the grounds of Article 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights” we specifically focused on young refugees and their transition from childhood to adulthood.

35 participants took part in a Young Delegates meeting which was held on 22-26 November 2019 in Budapest, Hungary. The event was supported by Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation with an aim of implementing the Council of Europe’s principles of the Revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life and to further disseminate the Have Your Say! manual.

SCforH – Creating mechanisms for continuous implementation of the sports club for health guidelines in the European Union, is a new project in which ENGSO Youth is participating as a partner.

The main goal of the Sport for Sustainable Development project is to create a platform for the transfer of knowledge in the field of sustainable development through sport.

The project will identify and nurture women emerging leaders and empower them to become real actors of change- change makers and decision makers in the sport and physical activities sector. The final aim will be to facilitate and support emerging/aspiring women sport leaders in achieving a change-making position in sport governing bodies. Therefore the project will promote Executive Board as an option for women volunteers in sport while also focusing on motivation, training, and skills development for the participants

The project will implement the Employability Study’s recommendations while also develop a manual to enable (starting) youth, sport, employability and educations organisations to undertake systematic Monitoring and Evaluation. It will also develop policy guidelines for employability sector on recognition of skills developed through sports.

The project provide young multipliers (youth leaders and civil society activists) and young people specialized in sport with concrete educational and training tools to be used in youth empowerment activities based on sport and for the training of young sport volunteers.

SK4YS is a transnational initiative of European sport, youth organisations and educational institutions in order to raise awareness on soft skills and competences gained through sport practice and to build capacity of these organisations to implement sport based employment programmes.

The main goals of RISE are to fight against prejudices and discrimination of disadvantaged young people through sports while improving their soft skills and knowledge and creating positive atmosphere fostering inclusion, active citizenship and participation.

ASPIRE has the main aim of offering suitable participation opportunities for refugees in and through sport, physical activity and play. This aim can be best achieved by the development and implementation of a training module that is informed by underpinning evidence and enhances the skills and competences of facilitators in sport organisations how to adapt to the specific context of refugees and migrants.

The project “Voices for truth and dignity – combatting sexual violence in European Sport through the voices of those affected”will generate crutial research data for the European sport community by listening to the voices of those that have been affected by sexual violence in sport. ENGSO Youth is a partner in the VOICE project led by the German Sport University Cologne.

The study will aim to increase knowledge on the interactions between sport, employment and youth across the EU in order to suggest improvements of EU policy in this area. It will provide an overview and analysis of good practices taking into account tools of recognition of qualifications gained through informal and non-formal learning related to sport in the Member States. It will propose possible future recommendations and plans of strategic actions in the context of contribution of sport to the employability of young people. It will build on already existing information in the other areas like volunteering, skills and development of human capital. It is part of the Europe 2020 strategy.
