What ethical dilemmas does sports innovation pose for values-based grassroots sport? How can we ensure that technological progress in the sector fosters accessibility and inclusivity for all? And how do we ensure young people are effectively and meaningfully represented in sport governance?

These questions were at the heart of the 2025 edition of the European Youth and Sport Platform (EYSP), held from 5–7 June in Munich, Germany. The event brought together 150 young people from across Europe to explore key themes such as sport innovation, mental health, sustainability, and youth participation.

A central outcome of EYSP2025 was the co-creation of the final conclusions document, a collaborative effort by participants to provide concrete recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders.

This conclusions document reflects the collective voice of Europe’s youth and underscores the need to strike a balance between values and performance in sport. It questions whether emerging innovations align with principles of ethics, accessibility, inclusion, and mental well-being, and whether the digital transformation of sport truly supports the needs of young people.

By presenting a set of clear, youth-driven recommendations, the document calls on decision-makers and stakeholders at all levels to take informed and impactful actions. It aims to shape future EU and national policies on youth and sport, ensuring they remain responsive, inclusive, and forward-thinking.

The EYSP25 Conclusions urge the European Union, its Member States, and all Youth and Sport stakeholders to join forces in addressing the recommendations put forth by the young participants of EYSP2025.
