ENGSO Youth Committee sets agenda for EYSP 2025, prepares for the upcoming elections and new opportunities for Youth
From 28 February to 2 March 2025, the ENGSO Youth (EY) Committee gathered in Belgrade, Serbia, for its first meeting of the year.
Hosted by EY Committee member Mirjana Ivković and the Olympic Committee of Serbia, the meeting focused on reflecting the geopolitical situation in Europe, including various elections in Sport organisations, good governance principles, sport values and the role of Youth.
Additionally, Mirjana Ivković presented the Olympic Values Education Programme, which she implemented on behalf of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, engaging young schoolchildren in Serbia. We also congratulate Mirjana on her new role as Public Relations Manager at NOC Serbia.
A major highlight of the Committee meeting was the European Youth & Sport Platform, ENGSO Youth’s flagship event, set to take place on 5–7 June in Munich, Germany.
Bringing together around 200 young representatives from national and international sport and youth organisations across Europe, the 2025 edition of the European Youth & Sport Platform will review progress on recommendations from the 2023 edition and explore future directions for European youth and sport policy.
The event will focus on the ethical dilemmas sports innovation might bring to values-based grassroots sports and how we can make sure the technological advancements within the sector work towards an accessible and inclusive environment for everyone.
The Committee also discussed preparations for the upcoming General Assembly, scheduled for 13–15 June 2025 in Oslo, Norway, hosted by ENGSO member, the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports. The Youth Assembly, held alongside the General Assembly, will include elections for the 2025–2027 mandate, selecting a Chair, Vice-Chair, and seven Committee members. Nominations for the candidates are open untill 30 April, 2025! Please be aware that only ENGSO member organisations can nominate the candidates for upcoming elections.
