Dare2Move4Nature project is a step towards a cleaner and healthier Europe
Dare2Move4Nature is a small collaborative Erasmus+ Sport funded partnership that was launched on December 1, 2024. The project focuses on addressing the urgent need to increase physical activity among young people while promoting green education and integrating sustainable practices into the sports sector.
The main goal of the project is to combine physical activities like hiking and camping with hands-on climate action and sustainability education. Dare2Move4Nature includes activities like hiking, camping, learning about climate action, and cleaning up trails and campsites. Participants will practice essential skills such as setting up tents, carrying cleanup bags, picking up trash along trails, and leaving campsites clean. They’ll also gain practical survival skills for outdoor adventures.
The initiative was created to inspire young people to respect and protect the environment while being active in nature. Through a 4-day camping experience, young participants will learn the essential environmental, outdoor and sustainability skills.
The project team held its kick off meeting on January 28, 2025, online, to discuss the action plan, key deliverables and the two international camps that will be organised in Slovenia and Romania. The team will also develop an educational toolkit, collect good practices and implement a European-wide communication campaign. Project partners will continue their work at the in person meeting in March, hosted by ENGSO Youth in Vilnius, Lithuania – Europe’s green capital 2025.
By blending those camping and outdoor adventures with meaningful activities, young participants will gain valuable survival skills, develop an understanding of how to protect nature, and enjoy the inclusive, intergenerational connections that come from shared experiences in the wild.
Project implementation supports ENGSO Youth strategy 2027 on Health (healthy lifestyles) and Sustainability, encouraging young people to use outdoor spaces for movement and advocating for urgency in greening the sport sector.
