ENGSO Youth attends the 7th Outdoor Sports Euro’Meet in Lecco, Italy
On 10 September 2024, ENGSO Youth Communication manager Polona Fonda participated in the 7th edition of the Outdoor Sports Euro’Meet, taking place in Lecco, Italy, with the aim to present the work of ENGSO Youth in the field of sustainability and the first edition of the Move4Nature project.
Move4Nature was a small collaborative project that facilitated education about environmental protection using hiking, and outdoor sports, as a tool. While the first edition of the project ended in 2023, we are thrilled to announce the new edition was approved for the Erasmus+ Sport funding with Dare2Move4Nature (small collaborative partnership) and Move4Nature Events editions starting in December/January.
The main theme of the 7th Euro’Meet, which took place from 10-12 September 2024 in Lecco, Italy, was “Outdoor Sports Innovations – inspiring sustainable and active citizens”. Through informative sessions and engaging workshops, the participants explore the potential of Outdoor Sports to:
- Transform outdoor activities into a vehicle for a better lifestyle.
- Promote the importance of an inclusive approach to sports, encouraging diversity.
- Contribute to practising outdoor sports in a sustainable manner and in harmony with the natural environment.
Outdoor Sports EuroMeet 2024 was held in Lecco, at the Politecnico di Milano – Lecco Campus, and organised by the European Networks of Outdoor Sport with a support of Provincia di Lecco, Politecnico di Milano and Regione Lombardia.
