YouMind project kicks off in Ljubljana

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) hosted the kick off meeting of the newly launched Erasmus+ YouMind (Youth Individual Sports Mindset) project which took place on 22 January 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

ENGSO Youth (EY) Chair Ugnė Chmeliauskaitė and EY Partnerships and Projects Manager Nadica Jovanovik participated in the meeting on behalf of ENGSO Youth. They presented the organisation, the work we have been implementing in the field of health and addressed the draft creation of the visual and communication package ENGSO Youth is responsible for within the project.

YouMind is a small-scale Erasmus+ partnership coordinated by EUSA that will work towards raising awareness about the importance of mental health in sport. Within the framework of the project the partners will develop different strategies with the aim to raise awareness on the prevention of mental health issues of young athletes.

The ideas developed will be showcased in a form of promotional video and guidelines which will share the best practices with athletes and sport organisations. The project will take place over a course of two years and will consist of various activities, such as workshops, surveys and meetings.

YouMind project directly contributes to ENGSO Youth strategy 2024-2027  on Health – Fostering the role of Grassroots Sport as an essential learning space for the promotion and improvement of physical and mental health and well-being of young people. ENGSO Youth continues highlighting the importance of HealthyLifestyle, which includes not only physical health, but also mental health of youth. It is worth to highlight, that YouMind project complements the work already done by the ongoing ERASMUS+ collaborative partnership for Hooray project, lead by ENGSO Youth: https://engsoyouth.eu/hooray/
