ENGSO Youth (EY) Committee member Alessia De Iulis and EY Projects Manager Nadica Jovanovik participated in the 2023 edition of the EU - Balkan Youth Forum in Novi Sad, Serbia, which took place on 13-15 December 2023.
As a member of the European Youth Forum Pool of Trainers, Nadica Jovanovik facilitated the Environmental Protection group, using non-formal educational methods to foster exchange among participants from Western Balkan and Europe.
The forum took place in Novi Sad where the participants delved into the theme of “Western Balkans Future: How can YOUth shape Europe.”
Over the three impactful days, the participants, together with the facilitators, explored critical issues concerning the Western Balkan region, such as air pollution, the alarming lack of protection for biodiversity, and the urgent need for sustainability and environmental education from a young age. Together with dedicated participants, they not only discussed these issues but also formulated recommendations that have been presented and will soon reach the desks of policymakers and decision-makers.
The forum also focused on human capital and regional integration apart from Environmental protection.
