ENGSO Youth Committee member Luca Wernert at the German Association for Sports Science conference
Last week, on 21 September 2023, ENGSO Youth Committee member Luca Wernert attended the conference of the German Association for Sports Science which took place in Bochum, Germany.
He briefly discussed with scientists on how research and sports practice can initiate a more effective dialogue and how transfer of knowledge can be more effective.
He also called for more joint exchange between sports and science, joint political lobbying and more funding for practice-oriented research projects. In addition, he proposed that the research findings are translated into concrete recommendations for action and be accessible to all in simple language.
In conclusion, Luca stated that children and young people themselves need to be involved in the research-practice dialogue, not just as subjects but as experts in their own right.
