ENGSO Youth supports EuroHockey in standing up for Youth leadership

ENGSO Youth chair Ugne Chmeliauskaite joined EuroHockey Youth Leadership festival happened in Dusseldorf, Germany on 15-19 August 2023, where she was invited as a special guest to host the workshop on advocacy and youth leadership, and support future development of EuroHockey Youth Committee.

4 days event for more than 30 Youth from different European countries was hosted by ENGSO Youth Young delegates and co-chairs of EuroHockey Youth Panel – Cedric Vermeiren and Chloe Jordon. It provided the space for youth leaders in hockey to share their projects and work in the local communities as well as to deepen the knowledge in coaching, umpiring, inclusion, youth engagement and communications. 

 

“Hockey was a part of my daily life for more than 20 years – trainings, matches, meetings with the teams, coaches, sponsors. It taught me discipline, teamwork and joy for sports, I am glad to support hockey community and give my share back to other young people”, – shared ENGSO Youth chair, who is currently having a seat in EuroHockey Development Committee. 

 

As for the further developments, EuroHockey Institute coordinator – Cameron Findler, together with newly elected EuroHockey board will release more information about Youth Committee. As for their future goals, Cedric and Chloe shared the importance of the implementation of the Youth bodies in the EuroHockey Member organisations, which is in line with ENGSO Youth priorities for the upcoming years.
