ENGSO Youth at Level Up! Accelerating change through youth sport

Last week, On Friday, 28 October, we attended the LevelUp! event organised by the European Youth Forum with the support of the European Commission and the European Parliament.

The event took place at the European Parliament in Brussels, from 27 th to 29 th of October, where more than 1400 young changemakers gathered to accelerate change for Young People.

LevelUp! started with the opening speech from the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, that encouraged young people from across Europe to bring the promise of Europe wherever they go, followed By the President of the European Youth Forum, Silja Markkula who inspired young people to speak up and asked for the introduction of the EU Youth Test as on of the main legacies of the European Year of Youth.

The event provided young people the opportunity to bring their views in discussion with policy-makers and to LevelUp! young people’s skills through more than 20 workshops divided between advocacy, communications and organisation matters.

ENGSO Youth was in touch with several young changemakers and highlighted the power that sports can have in empowering young people to speak up for a better global society.
