The importance of inclusion and understanding among PhD community: workshop by Rawand Ben Brahin
Following the facilitation of the ENGSO Youth’s Human Rights Education through Sport international youth camp in Portugal, funded by the Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation, PhD Student and ENGSO Youth Young Delegate Rawand Ben Brahin led another workshop, organised by the The Association of PhD and DLA Students (DOSZ), that promoted inclusion and healthy lifestyle among the DOSZ PhD community, using sport as a platform.
The workshop was held on 20-21 August 2022, in Lake Velence, Hungary and put special emphasis on raising awareness about social inclusion, soft skills and competences which can be gained and improved through sport.
Team building activities highlighted the importance of cultural understanding and acceptance, and included a cycling tour around the lake, basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, table tennis, swimming and more.
This event was one of the follow-up activities of the ENGSO Youth Work Plan on Human Rights and Sports and one of the participants’ activities implemented in their local communities.
Part of the activities from the upcoming manual were tested with the PhD community and collected feedback will be used to update the final outcome of the programme – Human Rights Education through Sports manual, with several concrete non-formal education activities.
Back to Basics – Human Rights Education through Sport programme is funded by the Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation.
